- 1 Medium sized onion
- 2 Garlic cloves
- 1 teaspoon Turmeric
- 1/2 teaspoon Ground pepper To improve the effects of turmeric
- 100 g Ginger
- 1 Bird's eye chili Optional for more flavor
- 20 g Coriander Optional for more flavor
- 1 tbsp Olive oil Optional
Make sure you have all the ingredients
Heat a pot with 400ml of water at medium fire
Chop the onion, garlic and the chilies and add them to the pot
Peel and chop the ginger in big pieces and add them to the pot (we'll remove them at the end)
Let it simmer for about 20 minutes until the onion has softened completely

- Calories are without the olive oil
- The base ingredients, those effective against cold and cough are ginger, turmeric, garlic, pepper, and lemon. That's the base of your soup! you can add anything else you feel like adding. I made it with cauliflower rice, but I burn it a little so it was not photo friendly :P
- It goes very well with chickpeas, beans, rice, anything that you would use for a soup!
